What does Volt stand for? / Our election programs

European election program 2024-2029

Volt is a European organization through and through - this naturally also applies to our political programme, which was not penned by a national party, but was designed and agreed by over 30,000 members in 31 European countries.

Our vision for the European Union is a climate-neutral, innovative, fair and federal Europe. We are convinced that a strong Europe is the solution to overcoming crises. We cannot solve global problems at national level - we can only tackle them together!

Five key issues for Europe until 2029

In our election program for the upcoming legislative period of the European Parliament from 2024 to 2029, we focus on five key areas: Europe's geopolitical importance, quality of life for all of us, ensuring humane migration, strengthening European democracy and protecting our planet and its ecosystems.

The 5+1 Challenges

Volt has defined 5+1 fundamental Challenges that need to be tackled in each European country and in Europe as a whole.

Why 5 + 1 Challenges?

The 5 Challenges are basically the same for every country, but their implementation can be adapted on the national level to take into account local realities.

The +1 Challenge – our proposal to reform and strengthen the EU – is identical across all our national programmes.
