Global Balance
Sustainability
Volt's vision is a fulfilled life without exploiting our own livelihoods. This requires a conscious approach to the resources available to us and to the consequences of our actions.
We must therefore make the needs of our daily lives, such as agriculture and food security, mobility, spatial planning and the economy, sustainable. This means that we do not destroy our resources through our use, but that they can be naturally renewed in cyclical processes and that our environment is also worth living in for future generations.
Refugees, migration and society
Migration movements are a normality within European society, which is why Volt sees both Europe and Austria as an immigration society. Volt is committed to a society in which diversity is lived as a matter of course and discrimination is resolutely combated. All people should be able to live in safety in their diversity.
International development cooperation and fair trade
The European development and trade policy to date to address the problems mentioned is currently insufficient and incoherent. In this way, Europe is not living up to its global responsibilities and opportunities. Volt is therefore committed to the consistent implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development for all countries and people.

The 5+1 Challenges
Volt has defined 5+1 fundamental Challenges that need to be tackled in each European country and in Europe as a whole.
Why 5 + 1 Challenges?
The 5 Challenges are basically the same for every country, but their implementation can be adapted on the national level to take into account local realities.
The +1 Challenge – our proposal to reform and strengthen the EU – is identical across all our national programmes.
